Last Friday I launched a print shop for my landscape photography and the hardest part was deciding what to call it. I teetered between Jenny’s Captures, Jenny Shoots, JB Images, and JB Photography. I’m having trouble letting go of JB Images. I’ve always loved a good rhyme though and JB Photography has that going for it, so that’s where I’ve landed.
I have to say that when I finished the site, it was really something to see the collection of photos I’ve accumulated. It has taken me a long time to decide I’m a real photographer, that I have the eye regardless of what training or equipment I do or don’t have, and that regardless of all of that I really really find joy in what I’ve created. I think that’s what matters most. And as I sat back and pushed Publish, I felt a very deep sense of pride in a way that I haven’t in a long time.
It’s a beautiful thing to get to experience moments of true awe at your own capability and creation. To truly love what you do merely because you’ve done it out of a commitment to your own joy. Your own heart. Out of setting your very own self free.
If you’d like to check it out, you can do so by clicking here. If you’ve been following Field Notes for a while you’ll have had eyes on a lot of my photography as I often share my work in the weekly newsletters. But there is so much to see in the several galleries so if your interest is piqued I do encourage you to check it out. A preemptive expression of my gratitude is extended toward you if you do so, as well as a 10% discount using promo code FIELDNOTES.
Thank you for letting me share. The regularly scheduled Field Notes format will return next week.
Tallyho,
Jenny
